Neema Crafts try to have a minimal impact on the environment and use natural and recycled materials where possible. All cotton fabrics are locally grown and dyed and then hand woven. The leather is sourced locally and our wooden products are bought from a sustainably grown teak plantation (certified).
Neema Crafts provides training and employment opportunities for over 100 people with disabilities in Iringa, Tanzania.
They aim to change negative attitudes towards people with disabilities in the local society. There’s a negative stigma attached to having a disability in Tanzania, and the centre provides dignity and hope for many people who previously relied on street begging or were hidden away at home.
